Plagiarism Policy

Jurnal Ilmiah Kebidanan (The Journal of Midwifery) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. All submitted manuscripts must be original works and free from plagiarism.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, ideas, data, or results from other sources without proper citation.

  • Presenting another author's work as one’s own.

  • Reusing significant portions of one's previously published work without proper acknowledgment (self-plagiarism).

  • Improper paraphrasing of other authors’ work.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software before the peer review process. The editorial team may use tools such as Turnitin, or similar software to evaluate the similarity level of the manuscript.

Manuscripts with a similarity index higher than 20% may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the extent and nature of the similarity.

Handling Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process, the editorial team will take appropriate action, including:

  • Requesting the author to revise and properly cite the sources.

  • Rejecting the manuscript if the plagiarism is considered significant.

  • Retracting the published article if plagiarism is discovered after publication.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted manuscripts are original and properly cite all sources used in the research and writing process. Authors must also ensure that their manuscripts have not been submitted or published elsewhere.
