LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE, OBEDIENCE IN CONSUMING IRON PILLS AND HEMOGLOBIN LEVELS OF PREGNANT WOMENS AT PRIMARY PUBLIC HEALTH ABIANSEMAL I, BADUNG REGENCY

Abstract

One of the nutritional problems frequently occurred in pregnant women is the nutritional anemia. Anemia is a state in which the hemoglobin levels in the blood is less than normal <11 gr/dl. Anemia is one of the factors causing death of  pregnant women. In Indonesia, the government's efforts to cope with iron deficiency Anemia in pregnant women is focusing on administering the iron pills to pregnant women at a dose of 1 pills containing 60 mg of elemental iron and 0.25 mg of folic acid consumed during pregnancy (minimum 90 tablets) on each day in a row, to lower the risk of iron deficiency Anemia in pregnant women. The purpose of this research is to find out the correlation of the level of knowledge, attitudes, obedience in consuming iron pills and the level of  Hemoglobin of pregnant women at primary public health Abiansemal I. This type of research is an observational with cross-sectional design. Samples obtained are 54 pregnant women. Rank Spearman method is used as a statistics test. Based on the results of the analysis, it is founded that: there was no correlation between the level of knowledge to the Hemoglobin levels (P = 0.111 and r =-0.219); there was no correlation between the attitude to the Hemoglobin levels (P = 0.138 and r = 0.204); and there was no correlation between the obedience of consuming iron pills to the  Hemoglobin levels (P = 0.297 and r = 0.145).
