RELATIONSHIP OF VITAMIN C CONSUMPTION LEVEL, IRON AND NUTRITION STATUS WITH PHYSICAL FITNESS IN BASKETBALL CLUB MEMBERS OF YOUNG GIANYAR COMMUNITY

Physical fitness is the ability to carry out daily activities effectively and efficiently. Physical fitness is influenced by lifestyle such as food consumption, activity patterns, nutritional status. sportsmen need the intake of micronutrients, especially vitamin C and iron (Fe) because vitamin C can increase endurance, while iron (Fe) can facilitate the absorption of food substances into cells and organs while the body is exercising. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of consumption of vitamin C, iron and nutritional status with physical fitness in the Young Gianyar Community Basketball Club Members. This type of research was observational with a cross sectional design. the population in this study were all club members, the sample in this study was 49 people. Data collection uses 2 x 24 hour record method, Bleep Test form, and identity form. Data was processed by statistical analysis of Spearman Rank Correlation. The results showed that 57.1% of the samples had good levels of vitamin C consumption. 53.1% with good iron consumption, 77.6% with normal nutritional status, 55.1% having adequate physical fitness. There is no correlation between the level of consumption of vitamin C and physical fitness with a value of p= 0.347 (p> α (0.05)), there is a relationship between the level of iron consumption and physical fitness with a value of p= 0.002 (p
