Abstract

A person's knowledge will determine their behavior in terms of health.Lack of knowledge about the impact of smoking can affect the level of dental and oral hygiene which can give rise to periodontal disease in smokers in the form of plaque buildup on the teeth which is supported by other aspects such as the occurrence of tartar. Research Objective: to determine the relationship between knowledge of smoking and dental and oral hygiene at sekaa teruna teruni Br. Kauh Pecatu South Kuta, Badung. Research Method: The method used is observation of dental and oral hygiene examinations and questionnaires. This type of research is Observational with Cross-sectional Design. The respondents of this research were the sekaa teruna teruni Br. Kauh Pecatu, South Kuta, Badung, totaling 40 people. The data analysis technique uses the Spearman Rank test. Results: Sekaa Teruna Teruni's knowledge of smoking was in the poor category and Sekaa Teruna Teruni's dental and oral hygiene was in the poor category. Conclusion: There is a relationship between smoking knowledge and oral hygiene at Sekaa Teruna Teruni Br. Kauh Pecatu South Kuta Badung.
