Abstract

Parents are the main and most important educators, but also the least prepared. The reason is that they have to seek information and knowledge themselves about how to grow and support their children's education in positive conditions. So far, when talking about education, the focus of the discussion has often fallen on students and teachers. Meanwhile, parents seem to be neglected in education. In fact, parents have a very big role in children's education. The aim of Community Service is to develop a dynamic scientific climate by developing research abilities and skills, motivating, mobilizing and utilizing and developing existing potential. The method used in this community service activity is empowering parents/guardians of SLB students through educational and mentoring activities, counseling and training on maintaining dental and oral health. The results of community service are: The level of knowledge of parents/guardians of Tabanan SLB students regarding maintaining dental and oral health in the pretest 30 people (60%) in the sufficient category and in the post test 35 people (70%) in the sufficient category. Counseling and training on brushing teeth for parents/guardians of students increases knowledge and skills in brushing teeth. Conclusion: the implementation of guidance on brushing teeth at home is carried out by Parents/Guardians of Tabanan State SLB Students to their children in their respective homes.
